CHIMERA PAINTS MINIS

THE RE-BRAND

Chimera Paints Minis approached me with a theme in mind, Retro Space Age Minimalism. Something that is futuristic with retro accents. Some forms of media I used for inspiration where the new Fantastic 4 movie (2025) and the video game “Destiny.”

Colors

The owner of the Chimera Paints twitch channel wanted to rebrand the theme with vibrant colors of pink, orange, and blue.
Font Inspiration

The font to match the theme had to be retro yet futuristic.
Dynamic Stripes

Included in his proposal was the use of stripes. To match the theme Chimera wanted, I made the stripes fuller and more dynamic. Sci-fi genre tends to use this type of design on architecture.
Bubble Letters

The use of bubble letters was also important the rebrand theme. However, the font had to also align with the Space Retroism aesthetic too. After presenting several font families, Chimera loved the 3D version of Ekamai.

The Inspiration

NEW CHANNEL BANNER

Accounting for all components above resulted in is this version of the Chimera Paints Minis channel banner. Chimera loved the more back alley industrial aesthetic. Since the channel’s main content is mini figure painting, the new Chimera Paints Minis colors and theme offered the idea to use the newly themed artwork as graffiti.

NEW PROFILE PICTURE

The profile icon reflects idea of spray painting from the channel banner with the spray painted “C” in Ekamai font dripping and splattered with wet paint.

This avatar was originally made to be Profile picture. Chimera chose another option for the final profile pic. However, they liked the design of this avatar for the emotes.
